Apple Picking

Another outdoorsey trip...we went apple picking! We had a blast. There were, however, lots of creatures...spiders and frogs...that were just as exciting as the apples. Daddy got to come with us and he was the hero climbing up and getting us the "perfect apples!"

I cannot figure out how to turn these pictures on blogger.....they were sent to me by someone else!

Drew looking worried as usual!

A family picture...see we're all in the picture at the same time :-)

Cute little boys so proud that they "climbed the tree"

Are you serious?

Neatest frog!

Not feeling especially creative with this post, but wanted to share some pictures. At least with the Grandparents :-)

Field trip to another farm

You'd think we're the outdoorsey type with all these farm type activities lately. You'd be quite mistaken. Fall is so much fun though and we've had a great time. Here are the latest pics of a field trip to Cox farms. It is a GREAT Fall festival and we went on a field trip with Ethans preschool!

Drew wondering what this is all about!

Mommy and big Ethan!

A huge cow.

Ethan trying his hand at milking.

Drew was a little shy, but did pat the udder.

Drew's favorite girl, Lilli.

Drew on a hayride.

Ethan driving a tractor.

A gigantic fat caterpillar.

Teacher, Miss Shameem. Ethan is so proud to show her his prize find!

Look at this sucker!

All the kids thought that was the coolest thing!

The County Fair

We had our first trip trip to the Loudoun county fair. It was a blast. A little scary at times, but a lot of fun too. Although we consider ourselves the suburbs of DC, the rest of our county is kind of in the sticks!

Ethan and a cool turtle.

There were a lot of tractors there...they loved the John Deere of course!

Ethan trying to look cool while driving the race car.

Drew and Mommy

Um, yeah, the first scare of the day. We thought this ride just went round and round, so we let Drew ride all by himself! Once he was on there we all discovered that it went QUITE high for a little 2 year old! He was so proud of himself while I almost had my first heart attack of the day. Yeah, that's him up in the air. Alone. All by himself. High. In. The. Air.

Second scare of the day. Somehow for some unknown reason, I decided to go on the "Swing" ride with Ethan. Initially, we were both really really excited. I forgot that the last time I rode it I was nauseous for a week.

Strapping in. Great. We're so excited.

Ethan is screaming with glee. I'm trying to decide if it is less likely that I will throw-up if I close my eyes, stare at the elderly (very elderly) ride operator, or at the rusting chains of the ride.

Right now, Ethan is screaming "Isn't this super fun Mommy" I cannot look at him because if I moved my head I might throw up. I'm thinking...."Get me off, get me off, get me off..RIGHT NOW!!!!!"

I'm so not as cool as I used to be (or thought I was!)

Just a little messy around here...

This all occured in one afternoon at the Coronel household. Nothing really new, just that I documented it!

This shirt actually says it all!
Little Drew
Ethan was part of it too!

Moving on to making brownies. Outfit 2 of the afternoon (nevermind the morning).

Serious about getting every lick possible!

Hard work.

Mom, leave me alone, I'm trying to eat!

This is why we had to implement a "no snacks in the car" rule :-)

To Texas we went....

Jo & I had a trip to Texas to meet and spend time with my birth family. It was truly an amazing (and a bit surreal) experience. I re-met some of the brothers that I had met in January, and then met the last two family members. I was able to hear more stories about this family and see the places they lived when they were young. It was something I had always hoped would happen, but never thought it actually would. I have a lot more stories...but this is not the place for them. God has truly blessed my sister and I with our parents!

Mommy was a bit distracted, so I got mischevious!

Baby powder is awesome!

Some of the family.

More family....Dede on the left, Kelly on the right.

Jo and an air gun!!

Me and an air gun. Watch out!

Kelly and a "real" gun.
Kelly and his girlfriend Gwen.

Another brother, Kris....

They're all "outdoorsey" and stuff. Ummm..are you sure we're related??

You sure you want me to actually drive this thing?

Not sure what he's saying, but something to the effect that I'm about to crash into either the tree or the horse.

Picking up dirt. He made me do this to show the boys. They loved it.

Power!

Kelly and I.

Trip over, off to San Antonio.

Biker Rally

So today was our first bike rally! Preschool has an annual bike rally where all the kids come in and show each other their bikes and then do a parade for the parents. It was hilarious!

Ethan started at the back, but quickly passed into the front. He only hit TWO helpless little girls on tricycles to jockey into position 1.

Passing on the turn. That's Lily....she wants to marry Ethan :-) She might change her mind after he left her in the dust.

That's Karlee...Ethan wants to marry her. Not sure she'd accept after he almost knocked her off her bike!

Drew so wants to be a part of it. Note Ethan in the background coming to reclaim his bike.
Poor little Drew.

"Um...seriously we have to sit here in a row. Can't we ride some more?"

"This is lame"

"You lookin' at me?"

Popsicle!!! (only dropped on the ground twice!)

Ethan showing his excitement after winning the award for fastest (and most reckless) rider of the day!

What a fun day! Can't wait for next year! We'll have to work on the biker etiquette though!

Sports Star....or not?

Ethan started his spring/summer sports teams. First was soccer. He's all ready to go, so is Drew who was heartbroken that he couldn't play too!

Tough guys..don't know what inspired this pose, but they did it all morning getting ready for the first day of soccer. (Thanks Grammy and Grampa for the cute outfits!)

Ethan getting stretched and ready for the big game. Oh, I forgot to mention that he sat on the sidelines in my lap the entire time!
Top Kick...some form of martial arts. Don't really know any other details to be honest and neither does Daddy. Oops. He does look cute in his little outfit/uniform...which also has some kind of special name that we're blissfully unaware of right now.

Ready for the dance class, I mean martial arts class. Dancing or fighting? Anybody seen Madagascar?

To give him some credit, on the second day of soccer he found his "best friend ever...Aiden" We talked about Aiden all week and couldn't wait for soccer. On the long awaited Saturday Ethan runs up to "my-best-friend-Aiden" to give him a hug and was totally denied. Aiden looks at him strangely and asked his Mommy..."Who's that boy" Poor guy. They did end up having fun anyway though!
